How to look after your skin in your...

Looking after your skin essential at any age. We find that most skin concerns have stemmed from the past, whether this be due to lack of SPF, skin challenges as we grew up or perhaps using the incorrect products. So we have made a quick guide to highlight what we should be using to create a happy skin.

FACT- OVER 80% OF HOW WE AGE IS DUE TO EXTERNAL FACTORS! ITS NOT ALL DOWN TO GENETICS SO INVEST IN YOUR SKIN.

TEENAGE YEARS

Cleaning the skin is imperative! Regardless if you are wearing make-up or not; it is key to remove any excess oils, dirt and bacteria from the surface which may trigger spots. Washing your face twice a day is a no brainer to keep the skin looking and feeling fresh. The second step to never miss is hydrate and protect! Keeping the skin hydrated minimises the production of excess oil and helps to prevent any dehydration. SPF is essential for all ages regardless of sun exposure. Protecting the skin prevents future damage... your older self will thank you!

UNDER 30

As before keeping the skin clean, hydrated and protected is really important.

You may start to notice slight lines or pigment appearing so this is a good time to start regular skin treatments and introducing Hyaluronic Acid, vitamin C and low levels of Retinol. Vitamin C will help defend against free radicals whilst ensuring a healthy glow where Hyaluronic Acid and Retinol will kick start the anti-ageing process keeping those lines at bay for longer.

A hydrating eye cream is also ideal to add to your routine to help minimise and plump the delicate area. Its never too early for anti ageing, or PRE-juvenation.

FACT- OVER 80% OF US ARE DEFICIENT IN VITAMIN C. VITAMIN C PLAYS A KEY ROLE IN COLLAGEN PRODUCTION AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION.

OVER 30s

Maintaining the skin as we age doesn't need to be complex nor does it need to be stressful. However we find that as we age we buy more and more "scientifically proven" potions to try stop lines in their tracks.

Really all we need to do is up the key ingredients from our UNDER 30s. Remain cleansing, hydrating, protecting, vitamin C and retinol - just vamp it up.

Increase your Vitamin C and Retinol usage and/or percentage and combine it with our antioxidant ingredients to super charge the results. Adding in frequent skin treatments and perhaps tools at home will ensure you maintain a healthy plump glowing skin. We find adding in a skin roller or micro needler to induce collagen and maximise product penetration works well along with internal skin health. Skincare supplements such as vitamin C, vitamin A, Hyaluronic and a multivitamin make a huge impact on the topical results.

As women reach the Peri-menopause and Menopause stages our skin can change again and this is due to the hormone changes in our body. At this point we can start to find rosacea or thread veins appearing, skins can feel drier and we can start to notice loss of firmness and collagen.

At this point we want to increase the moisture in the skin; hyaluronic, niacinamides and vitamin B5 are key. We also want to ensure we are getting the most of our vitamin C and Retinols in the skin as this is where we see the best collagen regeneration and production.

This is a hot topic at the moment as not something discussed very often on skin forums or social media. We are just touching on it here but will be going into more detail in the near future on our blog about the best steps to help your skin through these tricky changes.

It is always beneficial to have a thorough consultation when considering skin treatments, changing or adding in products into your skincare routine to ensure you are selecting the best for your skin. We are always available to answer questions or guide you in the right direction.
