Chemical Peels have continued to grow in popularity and nowadays don't seem quite as scary as they once sounded. So what exactly is a Chemical Peel and what are the benefits?
These clinical exfoliation treatments use a combination of active ingredients to effectively exfoliate dead cells by dissolving the bonds that attach them to the face. This allows newer, brighter smoother skin to make its way to the surface.

Who Should Consider an AlumierMD Chemical Peel?
Looking to brighten, smooth, clear congestion, firm, target uneven skin tone, and/or reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores? We use AlumierMD's Peels which can be tailored to suit each individuals skin's needs. They are a minimally invasive way to improve the appearance of skin and are also a relatively quick treatment to have taking an average of 30-40 mins.
We often get asked if the treatment will be uncomfortable, at the most you may experience a slight tingling sensation which will subside after a few minutes.
In the days following some peeling treatments, your skin might feel dry, and you might notice some flaking as the dead skin peels away, which is a good sign. This peeling action occurs at cellular level revealing the smoother, younger, and brighter skin from below that top layer. After around 7 days all the dead skin will have shed, any redness will have calmed, and your skin will be glowing.

AlumierMD's range of peels allows us to tailor the treatment to each individuals skin concerns.
The Radiant 20/10 peel combines 20% Lactic acid and 10% Salicylic acid. Lactic acid is an AHA which exfoliates dead skin cells and enhances skin renewal which improves fine lines and wrinkles. Salicylic acid is a BHA which is an oil soluble exfoliant with anti-inflammatory properties, allowing it to penetrate the pores to exfoliate and control acne breakouts.
Salicylic Acid also benefits ageing skin. Helping to reduce the appearance of open pores caused by loss of elasticity, reducing inflammation and improving the texture.
We also have the Radiant 30 peel which uses 30% Lactic acid, to gently exfoliate the outer layers of the skin. Strengthening the skin and improving texture and tone of the skin. This peel is best suited to more of a dry, sensitive, redness prone skin type.
The newest addition to the Peel range is the Radiant TXA is designed to target discolouration while enhancing skin brightness and clarity. Its low acidic pH optimises absorption for maximum efficacy while remaining suitable for all skin types and tolerance levels.
We can also incorporate a Brightening, Detoxifying or Vitamin A booster to accelerate results.
After every AlumierMD Peel you will receive a post procedure kit to take home which includes a SensiCalm Cleanser, Recovery Balm and SPF to use for 4-7 days following your treatment.
These peels are great on there own or for an extra boost combine with LED Light Therapy.
What to Expect During and After Treatment
The process begins with a thorough cleansing of the skin, followed by the application of the peel solution. You may feel a mild tingling or warming sensation, which is normal and usually well-tolerated.
After the peel is applied, it remains on the skin for a few minutes before being neutralized and removed, any skin specific boosters are then applied followed by a rescue balm and SPF. The entire session usually takes about 30 minutes. Most people experience minimal downtime, with some mild redness or peeling for a day or two.
To maintain results, a series of treatments spaced a few weeks apart is often recommended. Between sessions, it’s important to use sunscreen daily and follow a gentle skincare routine to protect and support your skin.
